What to Wear to Events

From the simplest tunics to the most amazing Renaissance ensembles, a love of medieval clothing runs throughout the society! “What should I wear?” is often the first question from people new to the SCA. While you can’t simply run down to your local store to purchase these items, have no fear! You have options.

Loaner outfits can typically be arranged by reaching out to your local group (or by contacting the regional officer in charge of helping new participants get started here) before an event. While costuming and historical fashion enthusiasts may already have an idea of what they would like to wear, the first few events are a great opportunity to learn about some of the many options availble before beginning to build a wardrobe. The SCA covers over a millenium of history that offers a wide variety of clothing promising to suit every taste and whim.
